HURRICANE STORM DAMAGE

The devastation caused by Hurricane storm surge flooding has impacted many lives, including our own at RMP. While we wish everyone a swift recovery, we want to remind those affected to be aware of the dangers posed by "Category 3" water intrusion. This type of water is highly contaminated and may contain harmful agents such as sewage, pesticides, heavy metals, and toxic substances. This includes flooding from seawater, rivers, lakes, or hurricane-driven rain. Porous and semi-porous materials exposed to this water are considered non-salvageable and should be removed.

In the aftermaths of storm surge flooding, we’ve encountered many properties where remediation was either not performed or was incomplete. In most cases, water-damaged materials were not fully dried, properly removed and/or developed mold growth due to failed remedial efforts. This can lead to lots of ongoing issues, which could cause further damage overtime, as well as allow "hidden" mold growth to remain behind impacted materials and potentially affect your health. Therefore, our storm damage inspection may be in your best interest to identify ongoing issues where we can provide the proper information and recommendations needed for a successful remediation and rebuild.
